Circa 1820's/30's, this open fronted picture locket in the gorgeously elaborate Rococo style so fashionable at the time. It is cased in 9ct Gold and retains the original large decorative bale and hinged on one side with two compartments which each could hold a favourite image (it holds two original colourised photographs) or dried flowers or even a scrap of precious fabric and it could be worn with either side showing. Measures a touch over one inch across.
